I love water …

…. especially the blue colour that is often seen in deep water.

The muse seemed to go on holiday but has finally returned to me!  Life is good again.

Here are a couple of paintings, both original encaustics.

One is an ACEO entitled

Where the light rarely penetrates – ACEO

Where light rarely penetrates ACEO with black border Look into the ACEO and you realise there are areas where light rarely penetrates but when it does it creates the most wonderful shades of blue and great depth.

Another painting slightly larger is 6″ x 4″ (15 cms x 10 cms).

Over spill

image During the floods that we have encountered, not just this year but in previous years too, you have to wonder where all the water flows? Are there underground reservoirs or does the water just spill over into the drains and beyond?

Just observe the multitude of blue hues!  This colour also allows the artist (me!) to experiment with light and shade.

Which is your favourite?
